To create these Shepard Fairey inspired posters, the head shots and body images were edited in Photoshop. Bringing more contrast to the lighting which made the shadows more visible and adjusting the proportions and sizing to fit the artboard. Taking the edited combined images into Illustrator, carefully outlining the shades. Finally, fill the outlines with the limited colors chosen.
During this pandemic, the hate crime rate has exceptionally gone up for Asians in Vancouver. According to the Vancouver Police, anti-Asian hate crime incidents have seen an 878% increase compared to 2019 (as of Oct 29, 2020 according to the Vancouver Police Department). Women are already more vulnerable than men but especially in the times like this, Asian women are even more vulnerable. This movement is important to voice that enough is enough.
